2018 2019 CDBG / HOME Funding Applications Now Available

CITY OF TRACY OPENS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK Grant AND HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP program APPLICATIONS FOR 2018-2019

 Tracy, Calif. - The City of Tracy’s annual Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME) applications for projects beginning July 1, 2018 are now available.
 
The funds, granted through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) target programs and/or projects geared towards assisting low and moderate-income persons by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunity. 
 
New program procedures allow all potential applicants to compete for funds throughout San Joaquin County. As a grant program partner of the County, the City of Tracy will accept CDBG/ESG/HOME applications for services and projects in the city and make priority ranked funding recommendations to San Joaquin County for a final selection of grant awardees. Applicants may compete for the San Joaquin County annual allocation funding pool estimated to include:
 
            $360,000         for CDBG Public Services Category
            $2,040,000      for CDBG Public Facilities/Public Improvements Category
            $700,000         for HOME Eligible Projects/Activities
 
Programs and projects must meet HUD's National objectives and criteria to be eligible through the application process. The Tracy City Council has established the following CDBG and HOME local funding priorities, in priority rank order for each grant program category:
 
CDBG Public Services Category:

1) Food Distribution
2) Homelessness Prevention, Intervention, and Transitional Housing Services
3) Senior and Special Needs Services
5) Domestic Violence Services
5) Youth Education and Enrichment Services

CDBG Public Facilities/Improvement Category:

1) Public Parks and Facilities; and,
2) Removal of Architectural Barriers (ADA)

HOME Program:

1) Address issues of public safety, health, and welfare;
2) Rehabilitate residential properties occupied by low-income persons; and,
3) Partner to construct income restricted family and senior housing facilities.

The CDBG and HOME funds application and grant funding requirements may be obtained from the City's website, (http://www.cityoftracy.org/) or in-person at the Development Services Department - Economic Development Division located inside Tracy City Hall, 333 Civic Center Plaza, Tracy, CA 95376.

An informational meeting to help guide applicants through the process and answer questions will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. at Tracy City Hall, 333 Civic Center Plaza, Conference Room 203.

Applications are due by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2018.
