City of Tracy to Host Virtual Town Hall Meeting

A Conversation on Racial Injustice, Policing, and our Youth

The City of Tracy will bring together community leaders on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 6:00pm for the second in a series of Virtual Town Hall meetings to discuss race, equity, and policing. The Virtual Town Hall titled, “A Conversation on Racial Injustice, Policing and our Youth” will provide an opportunity for residents to voice their concerns and perspectives, and will feature the following panelists:

•Robert Rickman, Mayor City of Tracy
•Nancy Young, Mayor Pro Tem City of Tracy
•Rhodesia Ransom, Council member City of Tracy
•Veronica Vargas, Council member City of Tracy
•Dan Arriola, Council member City of Tracy
•Dr. Brian Stephens, Tracy Unified School District Superintendent
•Raymond Morelos, President Southside Community Organization
•Sekou Millington, City of Tracy Police Chief
•Doug Diestler, Pastor Mission City Church

“In the wake of recent events, it’s important that we have an open dialogue with community leaders and the public at-large on issues centered on racism and policing,” stated Tracy Police Chief, Sekou Millington. “We need to hear different perspectives on these challenging topics, and collectively find ways to address them as a community.”

The Virtual Town Hall will be moderated by Allwyn Brown (A.B.) retired Richmond Police Chief. The event will be streamed live on WebEx, on Comcast Channel 26 and You Tube. The public may participate in the panel discussion using WebEx at: https://cityoftracyevents.webex.com (Event Number: 142 392 8329 and Event Password: Tracy2020). Participants can submit questions or comments via the chat feature of WebEx.

To participate anonymously, submit your comment in WebEx by typing “Anonymous” when prompted to provide a first and last name and inserting Anonymous@example.com when prompted to provide an email address.
