CITY OF TRACY TO INSTALL TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT GRANT LINE ROAD AND SOUTH LAMMERS ROAD INTERSECTION

Motorist should anticipate delays and plan travel routes

Posted: Aug 27, 2020
Location: Tracy, Calif.

Construction is underway to install a new traffic signal at the intersection of Grant Line Road and S. Lammers Road. The traffic signal was conditioned by San Joaquin County to mitigate the increased traffic count in the area. Construction, including lead time to receive all equipment and permits, is estimated for completion by December 2020 (weather permitting).

Tennyson Electrical Inc. of California was hired to complete the project. During construction, the contractor will maintain one lane of traffic in each direction, however, there may be occasions when the contractor flags traffic for the safety of motorists and workers. To minimize traffic delays and inconvenience to motorists, the contractor will perform traffic flagging after 8:00a.m. In addition, existing traffic signals at the intersection of Grant Line Road and S. Lammers Road may be programmed to flash for safety purposes.

“The City of Tracy’s Engineering Division encourages residential and commuting traffic traveling in the area to plan ahead for their trips and use alternate routes when possible,” stated Senior Civil Engineer, Paul Verma. “Remember to ‘Slow for the Cone Zone’ as traffic fines are doubled in Construction Zones.”
