STREET OVERLAY PROJECTS UNDERWAY IN TRACY

Motorist should anticipate delays and plan travel routes

Posted: Aug 27, 2020
Location: Tracy, Calif.

The City of Tracy is advising residents and motorists of several road resurfacing and repair projects that are currently underway through October 2020 (weather permitting). The projects, divided into phases, include construction on the following streets:

Phase 1

  • Grant Line Road from Lincoln Boulevard to Tracy Boulevard
  • Beverly Place from Bessie Avenue to Parker Avenue
  • Beverly Place from Holly Drive to Mae Avenue

Phase 2

  • El Portal Street from 11th Street to north of Highland Avenue
  • Duncan Drive from Lincoln Boulevard to Chester Drive

Construction includes pavement repair; road grinding; curb, gutter, and sidewalk improvements; ADA ramp construction; asphaltic concrete overlay; signing and striping, and traffic signal loop replacement.  Miscellaneous streets within the City will also receive a slurry seal on the roadway condition, which has already been predetermined by our City Traffic Engineer.

Knife River Construction of Stockton, California was selected as the contractor for the project through an open bid process. During construction, the contractor will maintain one lane of traffic in each direction, however, there may be occasions when the contractor flags traffic for the safety of drivers and workers. To minimize traffic delays and inconvenience to motorists, the contractor will perform traffic flagging after 8:00a.m. In addition, traffic signals at the intersections of Grant Line Road and Lincoln Boulevard, and Grant Line Road and Tracy Boulevard may be programmed to flash in order to accommodate various construction activities.

“Motorists should give themselves extra time and expect delays when traveling through these areas,” stated Leisser Mazariegos, Associate Civil Engineer. “Remember to ‘Slow for the Cone Zone’ as traffic fines are doubled in Construction Zones.”
