construction notice: Lowell avenue sidewalk project
Construction Planned June 3-August 6th, Traffic and Parking at Dr. Powers Park and Joe Wilson Pool May Be Temporarily Impacted
Tracy, Calif. – Construction began today on a sidewalk project on Lowell Avenue within the vicinity of Dr. Powers Park and Joe Wilson Pool. The project consists of approximately 8,000 square feet of concrete sidewalk, earthwork, landscaping, irrigation, concrete curb and gutter, ADA ramps and miscellaneous asphalt paving improvements. In an effort to minimize traffic impacts to area schools, local residents and visitors, construction was scheduled for after the school year ended, during summer break.  This project is expected to be complete by August 6, 2019, the first day of school for Tracy Unified School District.
“We look forward to completion of this crucial sidewalk project, as it will provide safe pedestrian access to Dr. Powers Park and Joe Wilson Pool on Lowell Avenue,” said Senior Civil Engineer, Paul Verma.
What to Expect
During construction, public safety is the top priority.  There will be occasional temporary lane closures, however, crews will work to minimize delays and accommodate our residents, businesses and the general public in the area in the event that they need to take a lane.  Parking for Joe Wilson Pool and Dr. Powers Park may be temporarily impacted while these improvements are underway.  Local residents and business owners who may be affected by this project were notified of this work in advance.  Please plan ahead for trips, use alternate routes when possible and use caution in the area: “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
We apologize for the temporary inconveniences this construction may cause and appreciate your patience as we work to improve our community and keep Tracy beautiful.

Tracy is centered in a triangle formed by major interstates I-205 to the North, I-580 to the west and I-5 to the east. A collaboration of effort from our elected officials, employees and citizens means Tracy is a clean and safe community where opportunity, growth, and success prosper. We invite you to come for a visit, open your business, and settle down to raise a family in Tracy. Take a look “Inside the Triangle.” You’ll like our pace, and you’ll love the place!
