Our Public Health Officer reported on Tuesday that San Joaquin County is currently in a COVID-19 surge comparable to the Alpha and Delta surges of the past. Our county's case rate on Friday was 30.5 new cases per day per 100k, and the test positivity rate was 13.6% (which does not include at-home test results). This creates a demand for test kits and we, in partnership with San Joaquin County Public Health Services, will be distributing 5,200 free COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Self-Test Kits at Tracy Sports Complex on Tuesday beginning at 9 AM until 1 PM or when supplies run out.
