The City of Tracy selected 10 out of the 46 applications received from local non-profit organizations seeking the opportunity to sell safe and sane fireworks from June 28-July 4, 2020. Proceeds from fireworks sales benefit local nonprofit organizations that serve the community. The sale of safe and sane fireworks is consistent with the County’s Stay at Home Order, and vendors are required to follow State guidance to create a safer environment for workers and customers.
Per the City of Tracy Municipal Code, the number of safe and sane fireworks booths permitted in the City is based upon the resident population of the city. The ordinance allows for one safe and sane sales permit per 10,000 resident population or fraction thereof. According to the California Department of Finance, the resident population of Tracy is estimated to be approximately 90,890 (January, 2017), so the City is authorizing the issuance of 10 permits this year.
The City of Tracy allows for the sale of safe and sane fireworks within Tracy city limits during the following times:
June 28, 2020 from 12 - 8 PM
June 29- July 3, 2020 from 8 AM – 8 PM
