Tracy, CA – November 20, 2024 – The City of Tracy announces that Bijal Patel has voluntarily resigned from her position as City Attorney for the City of Tracy. Her resignation will take effect on December 31, 2024, allowing for a smooth transition.

Ms. Patel has served as the City Attorney for the City of Tracy since April 2022, providing legal guidance and counsel to the City Council and City staff. Over her tenure, she has played a vital role in improving legal processes and procedures, advancing the City's legal initiatives, and ensuring the protection of its interests.

“We thank Bijal for her dedicated service and contributions to the City of Tracy,” said City Manager, Midori Lichtwardt. “Her expertise and commitment have been invaluable to our community, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”

Ms. Patel will continue to serve in an active capacity until the end of the year to ensure continuity of legal services for the City. The City is committed to managing this transition and will begin the process of selecting a successor in the coming months.
