Upcoming Election

A General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Tracy on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 for the following Elected Officials:

For Mayor                                                     Full term of two years

For Two (2) Members of City Council       Full term of four years

For Treasurer                                               Full term of four years

In order to qualify as a candidate on the ballot, a candidate shall successfully complete the nomination process which includes the submission of all required nomination documents.  All forms required for nomination and election to all municipal offices shall be furnished only by the City Clerk during regular business hours. 
 
Candidates may be nominated for any of the elective offices of the City during the following nomination period:  July 15, 2024 through August 9, 2024.  

During the nomination period, the City Clerk shall issue and accept nomination documents during regular business hours of Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and every other Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

If an incumbent for elective office has not filed nomination documents for their seat  by the close of the nomination period, the nomination period shall be extended to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

  • Resolution 2024-080 - 1) Calling and giving notice to hold a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, for the election of certain officers pursuant to the California Elections Code; 2) Requesting the Board of Supervisors of the San Joaquin County to consolidate the City of Tracy's General Municipal Election with the Statewide General Election to be held on November 5, 2024;  3) Requesting the services of the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters (Registrar); and 4) Authorizing the payment of costs for the Registrar's services for such amount of actual costs incurred.
