The Construction Management Division of Engineering provides inspection of public works projects, private development projects and encroachment permits during construction to ensure that the approved plans and specifications are followed.

Examples of public works projects include construction, repair and improvements to public streets, utility pipelines (water, sewer and storm drain lines), pump stations, bridges, bike paths, public buildings and public parks.

Private development projects include construction of public infrastructure needed to facilitate commercial, residential and industrial growth. This Division also works closely with outside utility companies that use the public right of way for routing of their facilities by providing inspections of encroachment permits to ensure that all work is in compliance with the City of Tracy standards.
