Each month water charges are calculated based on a flat rate water meter fee plus the actual water consumption fee. The meter fee charge depends on the meter size. Water charges are based on a meter reading and calculated based on property classes. See rates below.

Commercial sewer charges are calculated based on a flat rate fee (depending on what class or type of business) times the number of units of water consumption. It is subject to a minimum amount of $30.48. For first or final bills, the meter, sewer and storm drain fees are calculated pro-rata based on the number of days in the water reading cycle.

Storm Drain

Each developed parcel of land within the city shall be charged a storm drain maintenance fee based upon the impervious area of the developed parcel. The Equivalent Consumer Unit is the basic unit for computation. One (1) ECU = 3,140 square feet. Each ECU will be billed at $1.20 and included on your City of Tracy utility bill, if applicable.

Garbage fees are based on a once-a-week pick up and charged a flat monthly rate depending on the size of garbage bin selected.

Containers will be repaired or replaced at no additional cost provided that the damage was not due to customer misuse or negligence. Lost or stolen containers will also be replaced at no cost.

The City of Tracy encourages all residents and businesses to recycle. With the State of California passing Assembly Bill 341, which requires all businesses that generate more than 4 cubic yards of trash to have some type of recycling program in place, the city urges all business to review and/or expand their recycling practices.

Excess Weight: Loads must not exceed the maximum legal weight limit of 10 tons. Customer will be responsible for offloading containers in excess of 10 tons. Additionally, the customer will be charged a Stand by fee of $170.40 per hour after 15 minutes or an additional trip fee of $252.29.

Contamination (Recycling): Loads with contamination levels exceeding 10% by weight or volume will be charged as MSW (waste).
