What do Tracy residents want in their parks? Do they want playgrounds and water features; or, open spaces and walking paths? Are sports fields a priority; or, are community gathering areas top on the list? Most residents in our community would like to see a variety of parks with different amenities spread throughout town. Tracy offers diversity in its parks – with top quality playing fields for youths and adults alike; designated areas for our four-legged friends; water features for cooling down on a hot summer’s day; rentable spaces for family and group events; expansive grounds for community celebrations; and, peaceful settings to relax and enjoy nature. Our parks are places we can go to, to have fun, make memories, and experience the beauty of nature in our hometown.
The General Fund Parks & Sports Fields Maintenance Division oversees the maintenance and repair of over 252 acres of public ground, consisting of City-owned parks, sports facilities, medians and other landscaped public facilities. The Division performs a comprehensive list of services including: turf care, tree maintenance, irrigation system management, playground inspection and repair, restroom cleaning, and a host of other services.
We pride ourselves on providing our customers safe, clean and attractive facilities to enjoy - whether relaxing in the cool shade of a mature tree, exercising with a brisk walk around an expansive lawn, celebrating a special occasion with family and friends at one of our BBQ areas, playing on a playground or in one of our splash pads, or participating in one of many organized sports leagues available in Tracy.
Tracy's parks and sports fields are assets to our community. The parks, sports fields and other green areas contribute to a sense of community pride. They provide places for individuals and families to gather, participate in outdoor programs, and to wander and enjoy the natural beauties of our area. Parks and sports fields play a large role in making Tracy an inviting place to live, work, and play.
