The Finance Department is responsible for preparation of the annual budget, as well as budget updates throughout the fiscal year and monitoring of budget compliance. The budget is prepared in conjunction with directions from the City Manager and is presented to the City Council for consideration and adoption.
The City’s budget has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of America and Canada for over 20 years. Together with the awards for the City’s ACFR, the City of Tracy has won more GFOA awards than all but 5 California cities.
